Services & transparent pricing

All prices in USD. RMB equivalents shown for reference. No hidden fees — what you see is what you pay.

Half-day companion

50% deposit required
$150 / 4h
≈¥1,050

Covers a single visit or short procedure. Even one appointment involves real-name registration with your passport, finding the right department across multi-building campuses, kiosk check-in, consultation interpreting, payment (WeChat/Alipay/counter), and collecting your reports and prescription — I handle it all.

Full-day companion

50% deposit required
$250 / 8h
≈¥1,750

Everything included in the half-day option, plus more: multiple departments or a longer single visit, and I can arrange a car & driver for you (you cover the fare). This is the core service for a full treatment day.

Pre-trip record translation

Full payment upfront
from $20 / page
from ≈¥140 / page

I translate your records with AI, then personally proofread for medical accuracy and natural phrasing — so doctors get it right. Priced per page; most patients send 2–6 pages. A smart first step.

Pre-trip video consult

Full payment upfront
2× Free 15-min calls
then $30 flat per extra call

Two free calls are included: (1) an intro chat so we get to know each other, and (2) a pre-departure check before you fly, to confirm your prep is complete. Need more? Extra calls are a flat $30 each.

🎁 Free: Pre-arrival Alipay setup

Free
a $0 add-on with any booking

Before you fly, I'll help you set up Alipay and link it to your passport/card, so payment works the moment you land — not just at the hospital, but everywhere in China: taxis, cafés, pharmacies. No "can't pay" panic on day one.

Honest FAQ

Are you a doctor or nurse?
No. I am a bilingual medical companion and interpreter, not a clinician. I do not diagnose, prescribe, or give medical advice. I make sure you and your doctor understand each other accurately.
Are you currently NAATI certified?
Honest answer: I was NAATI Level 3 (Professional) — English ↔ Mandarin — which I earned in 2010, after completing a Master's degree in Interpreting, and worked as a professional Chinese–English interpreter in Australian courts and hospitals. My certification has since lapsed, so I describe myself as formerly NAATI Level 3 (Professional). But my English hasn't slipped: I've lived in Shanghai since 2012 (nearly 15 years) and have worked continuously in foreign-owned companies — Australian, American, and German — the whole time. I also interpret in Cantonese and Shanghainese. My fluency comes from daily professional use, not just a certificate.
Do you guarantee treatment outcomes?
No. Treatment outcomes depend on your doctors. My job is communication accuracy and logistics, not medical results.
How do I book the service?
For companion bookings (half-day / full-day), a 50% deposit — PayPal or bank transfer, your choice — confirms your date; the remaining 50% is due at the end of your last service day — once that day's hospital visit is finished (not when you leave China) — payable in USD or RMB (PayPal, bank transfer, Alipay/WeChat, or cash). Pre-trip translation and video calls are paid in full upfront.
What if I need to cancel?
The 50% deposit for companion bookings is fully refundable if you cancel 14 or more days before your visit. Within 14 days, 50% of the deposit is retained; on the visit day itself it is non-refundable (unless we reschedule). Refunds go back by the same method you paid — bank transfer or PayPal. Pre-trip translation and video calls are paid in full and are non-refundable once the work has started.
Which languages?
English ↔ Mandarin Chinese is my core pairing, backed by Australian hospital and court interpreting experience. I also interpret in Cantonese and Shanghainese, and speak basic German, French, and Japanese.
